Mini bar cabinet ideas are the topic of today’s blog. A mini bar could be as small or as teeny-tiny as you like; the definition of “mini” is entirely up to the you. No matter the size, custom cabinets cunningly designed will provide a convenient and perfect place for everything. When designed with custom cabinets, mini bars may be small, but they are mighty.

In addition, designing custom cabinets for a mini bar can fit into nearly any space in your home. Have a corner between a living room and dining room not being used? Need something to break up the openness between one room and another? Perhaps a mini bar is the perfect solution.

Custom Mini Bar Cabinet Ideas and Designs

Featured in this blog are three different homes with custom mini bars designed by Stonington Cabinetry and Designs. Each mini bar features cabinets custom configured for each space.

In this home, a mini bar was built out of the wall, continuing the look of the pantry cabinets on the other side of the wall. This bar also serves as a partial room divider between the kitchen and living room. Within this mini bar are special shelves for wine glasses, martini glasses and other glassware. Also included are two beverage fridges. Drawers above the fridges are perfect for storing bottle openers, straws, mixers and more.

Many people struggle with choosing a kitchen color scheme, mostly because so much goes into planning a kitchen remodel. You must think about cabinetry, floor color, countertops and appliances when choosing your kitchen color scheme.

Choosing a Kitchen Color Scheme using Cabinetry Flooring and Countertop Colors Kitchen Color Schemes with Accented Countertops and Neutral Countertops Kitchen Color Schemes can Include an Accented Backsplash or a Neutral Backsplash color

When choosing the colors of your kitchen, you should start with any of the main components. Floor color, countertop color, or cabinetry color. Depending on what you are passionate about the most, your color scheme can be based off what you begin with. Some people have a passion for one unique color and that may be the base of their color scheme.

How to Make your Kitchen Match

Choosing your kitchen cabinetry is a great first step. Complement your cabinets with the floor color and use your countertop color as an accent piece (or vice versa). Kountry Kraft offers many unique cabinet colors to choose from – which allows you to bring personality into your kitchen. Deciding your budget is the first step to choosing your cabinetry, this can be used as a guide to selecting your style. White cabinetry pairs well with dark wood floors and an accented countertop. Natural wood cabinetry pair well with neutral colored countertops and an accented backsplash.

This Kitchen Color Scheme Includes White Cabinetry with a Light Hardwood Floor and a Teal Backsplash

Once you choose your cabinetry color, you can move onto your floor color. Hardwood flooring is a great choice for your kitchen space because it is warm on bare feet, absorbs sound and kinder to a long-standing chef. You may choose from light, medium or dark wood for your flooring. Once you choose your floor color, it is time for your countertops. You can get very artsy when it comes to countertops. Countertops vary in color, pattern and style making it sometimes difficult to match with your existing cabinetry and flooring. Whether you choose granite, tile, wood, etc., your countertop will become a signature piece in your kitchen – maybe even the focal point.

Kitchen Color Scheme

This Kitchen Color Scheme included Navy Blue Cabinetry with Medium Hardwood Floors and a Multi-Gray Backsplash

This colorful kitchen by Stonington features navy blue cabinetry complimented by a light wood floor and marble countertops. All three components complete the color scheme of this kitchen. Incorporating a unique backsplash along with floating shelves to create a symmetrical look on the back wall.

This Kitchen Color Scheme included White Cabinetry with a Light Grey Subway tile and a Medium Hardwood Floor

White cabinetry with dark wood accents create the color scheme in this kitchen. The grey subway and paint balance the white and dark wood to complete the look of the kitchen.

There are many different options you can choose from when building a custom bar for your home. The custom bar you choose should be inviting to guests, should create an easy workflow, and should go with the feel of the rest of the room. The most important thing to remember when choosing the type of bar is that you want everything to be easily accessible to you or the person pouring and mixing the drinks.

When choosing the layout of your custom bar, you want to make sure that everything you would need to create a drink has a space in your bar. A glass rack and wine rack can be added to any cabinetry to give you extra storage for glasses and bottles.

Custom Bar Types

There are two different types of bars you can choose when creating your custom bar:

Custom Bar Cabinets to Entertain Guests

Wet Bar

A wet bar includes a sink with running water and plumbing. Because of the added sink, it is sufficient in increasing the rate you can create drinks. It is ideal for entertaining bigger parties. This bar will give you plenty of counter space to prepare ingredients and it will give you optimum storage for everything you need.
Include the following items for the ultimate bar experience:

  • Beer Tap
  • Blender
  • Refrigerator
  • Ice Machine
  • Dishwasher
  • Integrated Sound System

Dry Bar

A dry bar does not include a sink. A dry bar is pretty basic – providing a standard beer/ soda serving area. A dry bar can include storage space, glass space, and a mini fridge. However, the space on a dry bar is not as open as a wet bar so your prep area is going to be a bit smaller. You want to put your dry bar somewhere that is easily accessible to where you entertain the most. This bar is extremely convenient for pouring and storing wine, storing glasses, and pouring simple drinks.

Ultimately when designing your custom bar, you want it to be something that you love. You want the bar to work with your lifestyle and be completely accessible to you. Check out some styles of wet and dry bar choices and ideas on our Houzz page.

Home entertainment cabinetry is a great idea for any home.  Because many people choose to stay at home for family entertainment, or choose to entertain gu
ests in the comfort of their own home, having a custom
entertainment area with home entertainment cabinetry is a great investment in your home.  Entertaining at home takes space, and finding room to store your Blu-ray collection, AV equipment and family games is often a challenge, and can cause a clutter problem in your home. At Kountry Kraft we can create home entertainment cabinetry to clear the clutter and enhance the fun.

Developing entertainment areas in your home by adding home entertainment cabinetry is a great way to enhance your family’s together time, create memories and build a place to unwind and relax.  Home theaters with built-in entertainment centers are a great addition to any room in your home.  Recreation space allows you to invite friends and family to gather to watch a movie, play games, or have a party – the possibilities for your new entertainment area are endless.

Custom entertainment centers for your home theater also help reduce the stress caused by clutter in your home.  Piles of movies stacked on your entertainment unit or crammed in every corner of your home creates an unsightly mess – and makes it hard to find what you need.  Home entertainment cabinetry organizes the mess and create a unique space to relax and enjoy family and friends.  And with custom cabinetry every corner of your home can carry your style and express your individuality, while providing functionality and storage.

Home entertainment cabinetry considerations:

  • What is the primary leisure activity of your family? Who will be the primary users of this space?
  • Do you entertain large groups? Do you need a separate home theater room or can you integrate your entertainment area into an existing family or play room?
  • How much space do you have to devote? Do you need to maximize storage, or maximize entertainment space?
  • How long will the space you’re planning fit the needs of your family? Make sure the area you’re planning will have longevity or be a flexible space that can evolve as your family evolves.

Adding custom bar cabinets to your home will also provide you with space to store bar service ware like beer mugs, wine glasses, extra pitchers, platters and bowls.  This frees up space in your kitchen, and helps keep your cabinets organized.  Custom bars can also be outfitted with a lock and key and used to store liquor away from children, thus enhancing the safety of your home.  Adding a refrigerator or wine cooler to your bar area will keep your adult beverages cold, and will keep your family refrigerator free of clutter.
